Requirements
To qualify for this pathway, you must meet strict criteria regarding your original status and your current legal standing:
- Nigerian by Birth: You must have been a Nigerian citizen by birth as defined by the Nigerian Constitution. This pathway is not available to individuals who acquired Nigerian citizenship through naturalization or registration and subsequently renounced it.
- Formal Renunciation: You must have formally renounced your Nigerian citizenship under Section 29 of the Constitution. You will need to provide the official certificate issued by the Ministry of Interior as proof of this act.
- Foreign Nationality: You must currently hold a valid passport from another country.
- Security Clearance: You must be of good character and provide a police report from your current country of residence to prove you do not have a criminal record.
- Age and Dependents: While there is no age limit for the primary applicant, your dependents (children under 18) and your spouse may apply for related visas (N2B for spouses) to join you in Nigeria.

This pathway is strictly for those who were Nigerians by birth; those who naturalized and then renounced are ineligible.

Applicants must have a formal Renunciation Certificate; the F9A visa is a different category for dual citizens who have not renounced.
