Documents Required
You must gather a specific set of documents to prove your eligibility and financial security. All documents not in English or French must be accompanied by a certified translation.
Identity and Relationship Documents

- Proof of Relationship: A birth certificate, baptismal record, or other official government document that names your child or grandchild and links them to you.
Financial and Support Documents
- Letter of Invitation: A signed letter from your child or grandchild promising financial support for the duration of your stay. It must include a list of everyone living in their household.
- Host’s Proof of Income: The host must provide their most recent Notice of Assessment (NOA) from the Canada Revenue Agency. If an NOA is unavailable, they may provide T4/T1 forms, employment insurance stubs, or pay stubs.
