Global Talent Visa

To qualify, you must generally be endorsed by a Home Office-approved "Endorsing Body" that validates your expertise. Eligibility is split into two categories:

• Exceptional Talent: For those who can demonstrate they are already established as a leading figure in their field.
• Exceptional Promise: For those at an earlier stage in their career who have shown the potential to become leaders.

Sector-Specific Criteria

• Academia and Research: You must be active in a field such as science, engineering, medicine, the social sciences, or the humanities. You qualify if you have a high-level academic appointment, a qualifying individual fellowship, or a grant from an Endorsed Funder (UKRI).
• Arts and Culture: You must demonstrate regular professional engagement in the last five years. This includes fine art, music, dance, theatre, literature, fashion, architecture, and film/TV. "Talent" applicants usually need an international track record across at least two countries.
• Digital Technology: This is for technical experts (e.g., developers, data scientists) or business experts (e.g., founders or senior executives in product-led tech companies). Note: This route generally excludes those working in service-based agencies, consultancies, or outsourcing firms.

Disqualifiers and Limitations

You cannot apply for this visa if you are currently in the UK on a short-term visa (such as a Visitor visa) or a Parent of a Child at School visa. If you are a student, you must have completed your course or at least 24 months of a PhD before you can switch to this route from within the UK.
