Is the sponsor (the person already in Spain) a citizen of a non-EU/EEA/Swiss country?
Documents Required
All documents issued outside of Spain must be legalized or apostilled and translated into Spanish by an official sworn translator (traductor jurado).
Identity and Status Documents
- Full Passport Copies: A complete copy of the applicant’s passport (valid for at least 4 months) and the sponsor's passport.
- Sponsor’s TIE: A copy of your valid Spanish Foreigner Identity Card.
- Proof of Relationship: Original marriage certificates, birth certificates, or partnership registrations.
Financial and Housing Documents
- Proof of Income: Your employment contract, payslips (nóminas) from the last 6–12 months, and your most recent Spanish tax return (IRPF).
- Housing Report (Informe de Vivienda Adecuada): An official document from your local Town Hall (Ayuntamiento) confirming your home is large enough and suitable for the number of people moving in.
Health and Conduct Documents (For the Applicant)
- Criminal Record Certificate: Required for all applicants of legal age, covering the last five years of residence in any country.
- Medical Certificate: A formal statement from a doctor confirming the applicant does not have any diseases that could pose a risk to public health under the International Health Regulations 2005.
