Eligibility Quiz
Does the principal person you are joining hold a valid Ghana Residence Permit or a Ghanaian passport?
Documents Required
You must gather a comprehensive file of physical documents for submission. As the process is currently manual, ensure you have clear copies of everything for your own records.
Identity and Registration
- Valid Passport: Your original passport with at least 6 months of validity remaining.
- Non-Citizen ID Card (Ghana Card): A copy of your mandatory Non-Citizen ID card. You must register for this through the National Identification Authority (NIA) before applying for the residence permit.
- Photographs: Two recent passport-sized photos.
Proof of Relationship
- For Spouses: Original and a copy of your Marriage Certificate.
- For Children: Original and a copy of your Birth Certificate.
- For Parents: The principal’s birth certificate to establish the parent-child link.
- Legal Affidavits: If you are a guardian, you need a Statutory Declaration from the High Court. For minors, a letter of consent from both parents is required.
Support and Sponsorship
- Application Letter: A formal request for the permit. If the principal is an employee, this should be on their employer’s official letterhead.
- Financial Proof: A copy of a bank statement or an indenture (legal contract) proving the principal can provide for you.
- Guarantors: You must provide details for two guarantors, including copies of their Ghanaian passports or National ID cards.
- Bond Form: A signed bond form, which is usually finalized at the Immigration Office.
