Documents Required
You must gather and, if necessary, translate all supporting paperwork before applying. Documents not in German or English must be handled by a sworn translator.
- Identity: A valid passport and current biometric photos.
- Proof of Qualification: Your degree or vocational certificate. Depending on your country, this may require an Apostille or official legalization.
- Language Proficiency: Standardized test results (e.g., Goethe-Zertifikat or TestDaF for German; IELTS or TOEFL for English).
- Financial Proof: A statement from a blocked account showing at least €13,092, or a Verpflichtungserklärung (formal declaration of commitment) from a resident in Germany.
- Health Insurance: Proof of "incoming" travel insurance or a German private/statutory health plan that covers the entire 12-month duration.
- Professional CV: An up-to-date resume detailing your education and work history.
- ZAB Statement: If your degree is not listed as "H+" on the Anabin database, you may need a Statement of Comparability from the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB).
