Documents Required
All documents must be in Czech (or accompanied by an official translation). Documents issued outside of Czechia must be apostilled or legalized to be recognized.
- Travel Document: A valid passport.
- Proof of Relationship: An original or certified copy of a marriage certificate, birth certificate, or medical evidence of dependency.
- Proof of Accommodation: A lease agreement or a "Proof of Accommodation" form signed by your landlord. The landlord's signature must be notarized.
- Proof of Funds: You must demonstrate sufficient financial resources. As of 2026, this is approximately 120,000 CZK per adult (half for children). Alternatively, you can provide proof of the sponsor's monthly income, which must cover the "subsistence minimum" for the whole family plus housing costs.
- Criminal Record Extract: A background check from your country of origin and any country where you lived for 6 months or more in the last 3 years.
- Comprehensive Health Insurance: You must have a policy from Pojišťovna VZP (PVZP) or another authorized provider with coverage of at least EUR 60,000.
