Documents Required
You must provide original documents along with a copy. Any documents not issued in German or English must be accompanied by a certified translation.
- Identity & Travel Docs: A valid passport and your birth certificate.
- Photographs: A passport-sized photo (45x35mm) taken within the last six months.
- Proof of Accommodation: A rental agreement or a Wohnrechtsvereinbarung (a legally binding "Lending Agreement" if you are staying with a friend or relative).
- Health Insurance: Proof of "full cover" health insurance that is valid in Austria and covers all risks.
- Financial Means: Bank statements or pay slips proving you have sufficient funds to support yourself (generally approximately €1,200+ per month for a single person).
- Evidence of Points:
- Education: University diplomas, transcripts, and course curricula (especially for MINT degrees).
- Experience: Employer testimonials or work certificates.
- Salary: If claiming points for a high previous salary in a senior management role, you must provide tax returns or pay statements.
- Language: Recognized certificates such as ÖSD, Goethe-Institut, or TestDaF for German; IELTS or TOEFL for English.
