Documents Required
All documents (excluding your passport) must be no older than 90 days at the time you submit your application. Any documents issued outside of Slovakia must be apostilled or super-legalized and translated into Slovak by an official sworn translator.
Identity and Background
- Valid Passport: Your original travel document.
- Photographs: Two identical color photos (3 x 3.5 cm).
- Criminal Record Clearance: An original certificate from your home country and any country where you have lived for more than 90 days within a 6-month period over the last 3 years.
Supporting Evidence
- Proof of Purpose: Documents proving your relationship to a Slovak citizen, such as a marriage certificate or birth certificate.
- Financial Proof: Evidence that you can support yourself, typically a bank statement showing a balance of at least 12 times the subsistence minimum (approximately €3,300+).
- Proof of Accommodation: A notarized lease agreement or a title deed (List Vlastníctva) proving you have a place to live.
- Health Insurance: Proof of valid health insurance coverage within the Slovak Republic.
Post-Approval Requirement
- Medical Report: Within 30 days of receiving your residence card, you must submit a medical report from a specialized Slovak clinic confirming you do not suffer from any disease that threatens public health.
