Are you legally married to a Nigerian citizen?
Documents Required
You will generally need to provide three copies of all documentation. If your documents (such as marriage certificates) were issued outside of Nigeria, they may require an apostille or official legalization by the Nigerian embassy in the issuing country.
Identity and Travel Documents
- Valid Passport: Your passport must have at least six months of validity remaining and at least two blank pages for visa stamps.
- Passport Photographs: Multiple copies (usually between 2 and 8) depending on the specific requirements of the consulate or processing center.
- Police Clearance Certificate: A certificate from your country of residence issued within the last six months, proving you have no criminal record.
Proof of Relationship and Sponsorship
- Evidence of Marriage: A legal Marriage Certificate.
- Proof of Spouse’s Citizenship: A clear copy of the data page of your Nigerian spouse’s valid passport.
- Formal Application Letter: A letter written and signed by your Nigerian spouse stating they accept immigration responsibility for your stay in Nigeria.
