Eligibility Quiz
Are you currently inside Italy or at an Italian border?
Documents Required
While the Italian authorities recognize that many asylum seekers flee without paperwork, providing documentation is critical to establishing your identity and the credibility of your claim.
- Identity Documents: Your passport or national ID card, if available. If you do not have these, the authorities will conduct an identification process (photographing and fingerprinting).
- The C3 Form: This is the formal "Model C3" application form. It acts as your primary written testimony regarding your journey and why you fled.
- Evidence of Persecution: Any documents supporting your claim, such as arrest warrants, court summons, medical reports showing injuries from violence, threatening letters, or newspaper articles mentioning your situation.
- Personal Records: Birth certificates, marriage certificates, or school diplomas that help establish your life history and family ties.
- Translations: While the Commission provides interpreters for interviews, having key evidence translated into Italian by a certified translator can prevent delays.
