Is your sponsor an Irish citizen, a person with refugee/subsidiary protection, or a legal resident with a valid employment permit/IRP?
Documents Required
You must provide original documents. If they are not in English or Irish, they must be accompanied by a certified translation and, in many cases, an Apostille or legalisation from your home country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Identity and Status
- Passports: Current and all previous passports for both the applicant and the sponsor.
- IRP Card: A copy of the sponsor’s Irish Residence Permit (IRP) and their passport stamps.
- Application Summary: The signed summary sheet from the AVATS online system.
Evidence of Relationship
- Certificates: Marriage, civil partnership, or birth certificates.
- De Facto Proof: For partners, you need "evidence of a durable relationship," such as joint bank accounts, joint tenancies, and utility bills covering a 2-year period.
Financial and Logistics
- Income Proof: 6 months of bank statements, 3 recent payslips, and the sponsor’s Employment Detail Summary (formerly P60).
- Accommodation: Evidence that the sponsor has suitable housing for the family (e.g., a lease agreement or property title deeds).
- Medical Insurance: Proof of private medical insurance for the applicant is mandatory.
