Requirements
To qualify for this transfer, you must meet specific criteria regarding your current legal standing and your intentions within the Czech Republic:
- Valid EU Long-Term Status: You must hold a valid residence permit from another EU member state that includes the specific "EU Long-Term Resident" remark.
- Purpose of Stay: You cannot move to the Czech Republic without a defined purpose. You must be planning to work, operate a business, study, or have another verifiable reason for residency.
- Application Timing: You must submit your application within 3 months of entering the Czech territory.
- Public Interest: You must not be considered a threat to the national security, public order, or public health of the Czech Republic.
- Financial Independence: You must prove you have sufficient financial resources to support yourself and any accompanying family members without relying on the Czech social welfare system.
Conditions & Warnings
Your current EU permit must explicitly state 'EU Long-Term Resident' or equivalent; a standard national 'Permanent Residence' card is not sufficient for this pathway.
You must submit your application within 3 months of entering the Czech Republic.
All supporting documents must be in Czech or officially translated and no older than 180 days.
