Documents Required
All documents issued by foreign authorities must be officially translated into Czech by a certified translator. Depending on the issuing country, documents may also require an Apostille or "super-legalization" to be recognized.
- Declaration Form: The official Prohlášení o nabytí státního občanství České republiky.
- Identity Documents: Your valid passport or national ID card.
- Vital Records: Your birth certificate and marriage certificate (including divorce decrees or death certificates of spouses, if applicable).
- Ancestral Proof: Birth and marriage certificates of the parent or grandparent through whom you are claiming citizenship.
- Proof of Citizenship Loss: Documents showing when and how your ancestor lost Czech/Czechoslovak citizenship. This may include a foreign Naturalization Certificate or a "Certificate of Non-Existence of Czech Citizenship" issued by Czech authorities.
- Criminal Record: Only required for applicants under Section 35 (Young Adults).
