Documents Required
The documentation for this pathway is extensive and must be gathered for both the sponsor and the applicants.
Sponsor Documents
- Proof of Status: A copy of your Canadian birth certificate, citizenship card/certificate, or Permanent Resident card.
- Financial Proof: CRA Notices of Assessment for the three most recent tax years.
- Sponsorship Agreement: A signed form outlining the 20-year financial undertaking.
Applicant Documents (Parents/Grandparents)
- Identity Documents: Valid passports and birth certificates.
- Relationship Proof: Birth certificates of the sponsor and the parent to prove the biological or legal link.
- Civil Status: Marriage certificates, divorce decrees, or death certificates for deceased spouses.
- Background Checks: Police certificates from every country where the applicant has lived for six months or more since age 18.
- Medical Exams: Results from a medical examination by an IRCC-approved panel physician.
Note on Translations: Any document not in English or French must be accompanied by a certified translation and an affidavit from the translator.
